Review by nm-ken for iSkin Revo2 for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Rating:
I give the Revo2 for iPhone 3G only 2 stars because the product is vastly inferior to original product, designed for the iPhone Classic. I say this, even though I use it daily and would use no other. First of all, the visor (They say it’s somhow improved, but I don’t see it.) does not fit snugly on the back of the case when not in use, because of these rubber ears that they’ve added to the body of the case. When I say doesn’t fit snugly, I really mean doesn’t fit at all! It does fit snugly on the front of the case, when the phone is not in use, so if I’m going to store the iphone in my pants pocket, I use it and I’m stuck with it all day. If I’m wearing a shirt with a front pocket, I leave it home. Secondly and more critically, the screen protector does not protect the sides of the screen as it barely reaches beyond the edges of the window in the rubber case. I think the screen and hence the window is wider than on the original iPhone leaving the sides to be flimsier than on the original Revo. I’ve thrown the iSkin screen protector away and bought myself an anti-glare screen protector at the Apple store that is both wider and taller than the one provided by iSkin. Guess what? It was both easier to put on and left no bubbles. If you think you have no bubbles now, don’t take it off to clean, because you’ll never get it back on, looking the same. Warm water or not, these are suitable for a single use, as it is nearly impossible not to bend the edge enough that it will never again lay completely flat. 3.) The tab covering the headphone jack does not stay completely in (this bugs me but does not affect performance). 4.) Unlike on the original iPhone, the on/on button on top is difficult to press (I don’t know if it’s a problem with the case or the iPhone itself) and I have to hit it perfectly with the edge of my fingernail. 5.) The tab that protects the USB port (actually the rubber between the USB port and the speakers to each side) prevent me from using some spare cables on which the connector has a wider profile(perhaps designed for the iPod?) that the that comes with the phone. 6.) (and here I’m getting really picky) There no longer is a lens protector over the camera lens. Perhaps it’s better without it. In conclusion (because I have to finally get back to work), if you ever drop your phone on the tile floor, concrete sidewalk or asphalt driveway (all of which I have done), you will be glad you have the Revo2. For this, I should perhaps give it 5 stars. But I probably spent $20 for the replacement screen protectors (I needed it NOW), on top of the Revo2 and I’m forever looking for the clear visor, on days that I do need it!
Review by M. Johns for iSkin Revo2 for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Rating:
This case has all that I wanted in a case, nice feel, looks, damage control, protection. The front clear snap-on panel made the difference for me, it has saved the screen a few times and when its not in use, you can snap it on the back of the case. So if you toss your phone in a backpack, purse, pants pocket, this case will protect your screen and phone. Iskins gets an A++++

I drop phones. It’s just what I do. So when I got my iPhone, I wanted something that would keep it safe. Things tend to just HAPPEN to my nice things, too, so I wanted something with a plastic screen protector – something that is hard to find.
This thing is great. It fits on the phone no problem, the ports are all easily accessible. If you need to use your lower jack for anything OTHER than power or syncing, though, you’ll have to remove the cover. (like for docking, etc)
Only other drawback is the plastic cover doesn’t always want to stay in place on the back of the case (during phone use). You have to be certain it is set on the tabs. Also, I get the feeling that over time (a long time, mind you) the face plate tabs will crack and break. Mine are fine so far, and that is with someone shoving it down in a car cup holder when they didn’t see it (being completely clear). I can see hairline cracks in the corners, but so far, so good.
I’m very pleased with this, and pretty sure it has helped from dropshock and the occasional liquid encounter. My husband and I have identical cases, so he put a vinyl sticker on the back of his (traditional stickers will not stick to the rubbery surface), and I have a small sticker on my faceplate to help me locate it if I set it down away from my phone (remember – it’s clear, and not that big -very lose-able!).
Review by Eric L. Reyes Altamirano for iSkin Revo2 for iPhone 3G, 3G S (Black) Rating:
This is the second Revo I’ve owned as I had one for my 1st Gen iPhone 2G, and I’ve gotta say it exceeded my expectations. It’s not so much that it’s better than the original, they’re different, but it certainly does what I need it to do: wrap around my iPhone protecting the scratch-easy surfaces and keep dirt from getting in.
Now, having said that, the detachable screen protector is a bit of a pain. As many have pointed out, on the original revo for the iPhone it snapped onto the back snugly – but this was largely due to the flat nature of that iPhone. The curved bottom of the iPhone 3G and 3GS poses problems that the Revo2 tried to solve by creating large rubber latches on which the screen protector can connect. The problem is that this is still a malleable material so invariably unless you’re conscious of holding the phone in such a way that the screen doesn’t fall off the back easily, it’s destined to pop off at some point. I just basically take it off and hold both in the same hand without snapping them together, but this isn’t always an option.
Truth be told if you’re careful about what pocket you put your iPhone in and what you put in with it, you shouldn’t have a problem simply not using the detachable screen protector, and otherwise it’s not so bothersome either that I’ve felt the need to ditch it. I like the added protection. I definitely like the fit of the Revo2 itself over the iPhone 3GS, and I’ve found nothing better for my iPhone after going through literally dozens of selections and their respective reviews.

I bought a black one for myself and red for my wife’s iphone 3gs. Very nice and great protection. Doesn’t add too much thickness to the phone and frankly, I’ve forgotten how thin the iPhone was since I’ve had this on from the very first day I got the phone. Earphone cover never fit perfect as others have described and plastic screen cover doesn’t fit easily to the back. It took me a while to get used to having the plastic cover; but once I have gotten used to it, I can’t imagine not having it. It does provide a great screen protection. Both are dust and lint magnets, but more obvious on the black one. Looking at both black and red, the latter does look far better and sexier. I may give blue iSkin Revo2 a try in the future but definately will stick with iSkin Revo2.
