What to expect from Windows 7

It’s been only 20 months since Vista was launched worldwide, and Microsoft is already nearly finished on a new version of Windows. I’m not sure if such a short period of time between two versions of an operating system is something positive or not, especially after the lack of enthusiasm generated by Vista after its [...]

Microsoft to emulate Spotify?

According to the UK’s Telegraph, Microsoft is planning to launch a music streaming service similar to Spotify and Pandora. Like Spotify, they are planning ad supported streaming for free listening, with a premium model without ads. The Telegraph adds that this may help bolster the basically failed Zune player.
It’s difficult to know what to think [...]

What will Apple announce at WWDC in June?

What are we expecting from the Worldwide Developers Conference in June? Lots of people are predicting that Palm will launch their much hyped Pre handset on June 7th, just a day before the Apple conference begins. Maybe Palm are hoping to overshadow any Apple announcements, but that looks dangerous to me, as Apple are likely [...]

Windows 7 Theme-Pretend you’ve got the new version of Windows on your phone

Windows 7 isn’t released until later this year, but if you want to become an early adopter then check out this Windows 7 Theme for Series 60 phones.

The theme is an homage to the new operating system, adding a display background based around the desktop wallpaper in Windows 7. It makes for a cool-looking background, but it’s let down by the horrible logo used, which is so squashed up that it just looks ridiculous.

Other changes the Windows 7 Theme applies to your phone include a smart new analog clock skin, some rather crudely-designed menu icons and neat pop-up menus.

Some of the design elements in the Windows 7 Theme work well, others are pretty lame. Let’s hope the real thing looks a bit better!
